About Us

A non-profit making, non-political student organisation that strives to raise legal awareness amongst Hong Kong secondary school students 

through organising various activities,

most notably Mooting and Mock Trial competitions.

Mooting and Mock Trial offer a taste of the practice of law and an introduction to the legal system of Hong Kong. Mooting is the oral advocacy of legal arguments in an Appellate Court, whilst Mock Trial is an imitation of First Instance Trials with an emphasis on the trial of facts. Both are intellectually stimulating activities, requiring students to have an understanding of concepts in law and formulate legal arguments surrounding the issues they are presented with. The hands-on experience in preparing for and competing in moots and trials allows students to understand the procedures of litigation as well as the work required in preparation of it. 

The HKIMMTO embraces student autonomy in our administration approach as we believe that it is essential for secondary students to participate directly in the organisation of events, which is why we welcome secondary students to form the Executive Committee of our Organisation. They will be given the autonomy to organise activities from start to end through an experiential learning process, gaining the necessary skills to be independent and creative problem solvers.
